“Machzor Gimmel” Ramah Alumni Weekend

How do I sign up?

Glad you asked! You can register at this link or go to ramah.org/alumniweekend

What is Machzor Gimmel? Why now?

Machzor Gimmel (“Third Session”) is a Ramah alumni weekend, taking place at Camp from Friday, September 20 – Sunday, September 22, 2024.

At a time when so many of us are craving community and connection, for ourselves, our partners, and our children, Camp Ramah is creating a space for just that: respite, pure fun, and meaningful Jewish engagement.

Machzor Gimmel is an opportunity to create and recreate camp community, reliving joyous moments of the past while creating new ones as adults, and using this special time together as a personal breath of fresh air. This Shabbaton is intended to be relaxing, meaningful through spirited tfillot (prayer services) and Jewish learning opportunities, and of course, fun. Above all, Machzor Gimmel is a chance for each of us to reflect, reset, and rejuvenate.

Who is organizing this?

A group of alumni volunteers, led by Talia Spitzer and Ariel Platt, have been collaborating with the Camp staff to develop a vision for Machzor Gimmel, coordinate recruitment, and contribute to programming ideas. In addition, our year-round team is responsible for the programmatic and logistical elements of ensuring Machzor Gimmel is a big success for all participants.

Who can I contact with questions?

Please reach out to Mike Dolinka, Director of Development (mike@ramah.org)

Who is eligible to participate?

Whether you were a chanich (camper), madrich (counselor) or on tzevet (staff) in another capacity, Machzor Gimmel is open to alumni from these programs ages 25 and up. Alumni, their partners and families with children 10 and under are welcome to join.

Can I bring my kid(s)?

Machzor Gimmel will be a family-friendly environment and your children ages 10 and under are welcome to join. We aspire in future years to offer programming for a wider range of ages. Children under 3 are free. Please reach out to development@ramah.org with any questions.

How much does Machzor Gimmel cost?

We want to make sure alumni at different life stages and of different financial means are able to attend Machzor Gimmel. To that end, there are several pricing options based on the number of people in your party attending and where you would like to stay. The following costs include two nights at camp, five meals, snacks, all programming, access to amenities (e.g., swimming, sports), and parking.

  • Single occupancy: $350 (shared bunk), $400 (private room)
  • Double occupancy: $500 (shared bunk), $600 (private room)
  • Child (Age 3 – 10): $125 (shared bunk), $150 (private room)
