Shalom Tzophim Families,
Bruchim Habaim (Welcome) to Kayitz 2025! What an incredible start to the summer it’s been here in Ojai. The chanichim (campers) of Tzophim have jumped right into camp life! We’ve already spent time exploring our creative sides in omanut (art), cooking up treats in bishul, dancing in rikkud, riding through the hills on mountain bikes, flying through the air in circus, and so much more. The energy is high, the friendships are forming, and we’re all looking forward to our first Shabbat together as Tzophim 2025!
One of the most meaningful moments this week was our traditional Tzophim initiation activity. In this powerful peulah (activity), our chanichim began their journey not just as individuals, but as a united edah. It was beautiful to see the ruach (spirit), kavod (respect), and kehillah (community) already beginning to take root—it’s clear this group is something special. And the adventure is just beginning! This Sunday, we’re heading out on our first tiyul (trip), where we’ll spend a few days camping together in beautiful Ventura. From kayaking and paddleboarding in the harbor to unplugged bonding time in nature, we can’t wait to deepen our friendships and continue the Tzophim journey out in the wild.
Wishing you all a peaceful and joy-filled Shabbat.
Zoe Weisberg, Rosh Tzophim
