Brian Fagan and Lisa Lainer-Fagan Camp Ramah Jewish Educators’ Subsidy

Supporting Jewish Educators. Strengthening Jewish Community.

Jewish educators are central to the vitality of Jewish life. Camp Ramah in California is proud to offer a new tuition subsidy that helps ensure their children can experience the magic, meaning, and community of a Ramah summer.

What is the Jewish Educators’ Subsidy?
This subsidy provides an automatic 50% reduction in tuition for eligible children of Jewish day school educators attending Camp Ramah in California.

Who is eligible?
Families are eligible if:

  • A parent/guardian works 30 or more hours per week at a Jewish day school
  • The educator is employed at the time their child attends camp
  • Household AGI is $350,000 or less
  • Household net assets are $3 million or less

Which school roles are eligible for this subsidy?
This subsidy is intended for Jewish day school educators and administrators whose roles include direct, ongoing work with students. Eligible roles may include classroom teachers, principals, assistant principals, school rabbis, and student support or wellness directors. Roles that are primarily administrative or operational such as admissions, finance, development, or operations are not eligible.

Is there a financial aid application?
No. This subsidy requires self-attestation only and does not involve submitting financial documents.

How much does the subsidy cover?
The subsidy covers 50% of tuition.

For Summer 2026, tuition after the subsidy is:

  • 1st or 2nd Session: $3,365
  • Gesher: $1,630

Can multiple children receive the subsidy?
Yes. All eligible children in a family may receive the subsidy.

Does the subsidy apply to tuition for Ramah Day Camp LA?
At this time, the subsidy applies only to campers attending Camp Ramah in Ojai.

How do families receive the subsidy?
Eligible families confirm eligibility by completing the Jewish Professionals’ Scholarship form in the CampInTouch Portal and then a brief self-attestation. The tuition reduction will then be applied automatically.

Why is Ramah offering this subsidy?
Camp Ramah in California is committed to supporting Jewish educators and ensuring their families can participate fully in the Ramah community.
