Janine Winkler Lowy is a communal leader, philanthropist, and proud Ramah parent-turned-grandparent. Together with her four children, she established the Winkler Lowy Foundation which supports formative Jewish programming here and in Israel, including originating Camp Ramah’s Masah Incentive program, an innovative scholarship that inspires older campers to continue their Ramah journey. 

Janine currently serves on the Milken Board of Trustees, the Shoah Foundation Board and is a trustee of the Washington Institute. She has also served on the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum’s Collections Committee, Camp Ramah in California, and numerous Jewish educational institutions. Janine’s children, Simonette, Jacqueline, Benjamin, and Caroline, grew up at Ramah as campers and counselors, carrying forward a legacy of Jewish connection and community.

Jesse Gabriel & Oren Gabriel

A proud Ramah alumnus, Assemblymember Jesse Gabriel represents the San Fernando Valley in the California State Legislature. As Chair of the Legislative Jewish Caucus, he has authored laws to combat antisemitism, strengthen hate-crimes protections, and return stolen property to Holocaust survivors. Jesse lives in the Valley with his wife, Rachel Rosner — a Ramah alumna — and their sons, Ethan, Joshua, and Noah, who have begun their own Ramah journeys.

Oren Gabriel’s Ramah journey began in the Gan and continued through Machon (’01), followed by three summers on staff, including as an Amitzim counselor. He later served on the Ramah Board and as a member of Ramah Young Alumni Leaders (RYAL). For Oren, Ramah has been a source of lifelong friendships and a deep commitment to Jewish community. Oren lives in the Valley with his wife Julia and their two children, Ari and Mila.
