Shalom Machon Families,
What an unforgettable first full week of camp it’s been! We began with our first Shabbat as a kehillah (community), where the ruach (spirit), learning, and sense of connection set a powerful tone for the days ahead. From spirited singing to meaningful conversations, Machon is already stepping into its role as leaders at camp with pride and heart.
This week, we had our first two full days of Manhigut (leadership), where our chanichim (campers) joined younger edot for swim, chuggim, and more. It’s been incredible watching them begin to form bonds and grow into their leadership roles, and we can’t wait to deepen those connections in the week ahead. A true highlight of the week was our participation in All Night Beit Midrash, a cherished Machon tradition. Campers stayed up late into the night studying Jewish texts, wrestling with big questions, and reflecting on their Jewish identities—ending the night with a beautiful Rosh Chodesh Shacharit at sunrise.
Of course, we also made time for some pure kef (fun)! From Survivor Night to our beloved Leil Eilat (night swim at the pool), the energy and laughter were contagious. And now, as Machon gears up to lead all of camp in next week’s Maccabiah (color wars), we’re ready to bring the ruach, the teamwork, and the magic that only this edah can provide.
Shabbat Shalom from all of us in Machon,
Tali, Rosh Machon
