Shalom Sollelim Families,
Our first full week of camp has flown by—and what a week it was! We kicked things off with our first Shabbat together as a kehillah (community), and it was filled with meaningful tefillot, joyful singing, and that unmistakable Sollelim ruach (spirit). It was the perfect way to reflect, recharge, and bond as an edah.
From there, the week only got more exciting! We joined the entire machane (camp) for the all-camp concert and sang our hearts out with friends new and old. We also had our long-awaited Yom Chof (beach day)! The chanichim spent a glorious afternoon at the beach in Ventura—swimming, boogie boarding, and soaking up the shemesh (sun). Don’t worry, they were fully loaded with krem haganah (sunscreen) and hydrated with plenty of mayim (water).
One of the biggest highlights of the week was Rock Around the Ages—a legendary Ramah tradition. With a 2010s music theme, the ohelim (tents) brought their absolute best, showing up in colorful tutus, face paint, and nonstop ruach on the dance floor. We’re so proud of Ohel 14 for taking home the Sollelim RATA crown!
We can’t wait to carry this energy into Shabbat and beyond.
Shabbat Shalom,
Hannah, Rosh Sollelim
