Ramah CA has decided to join with a long-time Jewish organizational partner, Moving Traditions, a leader in offering successful monthly teen groups for years, to launch a virtual option for current 8th and 9th grade Ramahniks (Tzophim and Kochavim 2021).

Rosh Hodesh for girls and Shevet for boys, are groups of 7-10 teens led by a trained Ramah staff member, who will together explore the challenges and joys of teens’ lives, drawing on social emotional learning, an understanding of teen culture, and Jewish wisdom and values. Groups will meet virtually twice per month for a 1 hour session from November – May. We will send out a doodle to group participants to arrive at the best day and time to meet consistently.
Each group will be facilitated by a veteran Ramah staff member who has been trained in the Moving Traditions curriculum and will also be joined by a Ramah madrich/a (counselor). The goal is to provide our teens with opportunities for meaningful engagement with peers and with positive role models and to strengthen Ramah connections leading up to Summer 2021.
Who’s eligible? The groups are open to current 8th and 9th graders. We are sharing this information with past and present Ramahniks, but if you know of a prospective Ramahnik interested in joining, please feel free to share the information.
What’s the cost? For approximately 14 meetings over 7 months (November -May) the cost is $150 for unenrolled Ramahniks or $100 for those enrolled for camp by November 5th.
